The Indian version of the well-known reality series Shark Tank made its Sony TV debut last year after becoming well-known in the United States. It featured entrepreneurs giving business presentations to a group of shark investors and was titled Shark Tank India. The Indian adaptation featured Ghazal Alagh, Ashneer Grover, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, Anupam Mittal and Namita Thapar as sharks, who decide whether to invest in a company or not.

Shark Tank India opened to rave reviews for season 1, and is all set to return with season 2 on January 2, 2023. The premise and the unique pitches presented to the sharks would remain mostly the same, although Ashneer Grover's appearance on the show would vary.

Ashneer Grover, a co-founder and former MD of BharatPe, will no longer be appearing as a shark on the show. However, taking his place would be a new shark - Amit Jain who is CarDekho’s CEO and co-founder. Amit Jain is an alumnus of IIT Delhi. The businessman, who is 45 years old, began his career at Tata Consultancy Services as a software engineer before going on to carve out a niche for himself. In 2017, Amit Jain and his brother Anurag founded GirnarSoft, a provider of commercial software solutions. After visiting an automobile expo in Delhi, they got the bright idea to start CarDekho. His company is now worth millions, and the "technocrat" is now prepared to start acting like a shark on Shark Tank India season 2.

Amit even posted on Instagram about his upcoming stint on Shark Tank and wrote how he looks forward to “mentoring budding entrepreneurs to build a new India”.

In a post where he is seen posing for a picture on the sets of Shark Tank India, he wrote in the caption, "When you are at the top of your game, all the chatter is around your success. What many don't realise is the fact that it takes years of hard work and grit to build business and failing is a constant part of the process. In fact, you learn more from failure than success.

I have seen many ups and downs in my entrepreneurial journey but there's one thing I have never shied away from - experimenting with new things and doing my bit to build the entrepreneurial ecosystem in India.

Taking this philosophy forward, I am ready to place my bet on the spirit of entrepreneurship."

The show is based on the well-known show Shark Tank USA, where aspiring businesspeople go to ask the sharks on the panel for possibilities to invest. Along with Amit Jain, other OG sharks making a comeback include Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, Vineeta Singh, Namita Thapar, and Peyush Bansal. Ashneer Grover managed to build his own devoted fan base after season 1, therefore the news of his departure from the show still depresses viewers.

Meanwhile, Ashneer Grover, a co-founder of Bharat Pe and a former Shark Tank India judge, has now joined the second season of the web series Pitchers. The characters of Naveen Kasturia, Abhay Mahajan, and Arunabh Kumar are shown standing in an elevator in a recent trailer posted by Zee5 on its YouTube account on Monday. They talk about how they missed the opportunity to meet Ashneer Grover and present their company proposal. The second season of Pitchers will premiere on ZEE5 on December 23.
