Shark Tank India’s Ashneer Grover has definitely made a name for himself as someone who will not mince words when giving his opinion about business ideas. The businessman, who is the managing director and co-founder of BharatPe, is known for his honest and sometimes, harsh comments, given to contestants pitching their ideas on the show. One of the startup founders, Niti Singhal had found herself on the receiving end of it when she made her pitch.
Singhal, a designer, had pitched her clothing brand, Twee In One, a sustainable clothing brand that offers garments, which can be reversed and worn as well. Grover was not too taken with the idea, going so far as to say that not only was the fashion bad and that no one would ever wear them, but also saying that Singhal was wasting her time on the venture. So it came as an ironic surprise that, during Grover’s appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, the businessman’s wife had worn the very same reversible dress that Singhal had gifted the judge. Singhal had also posted a reel pointing to the irony of it all.
Opening up about the incident in a conversation with Rohan Joshi and Sahil Shah, Grover said that he had wanted to make a mop out of the ‘bad’ dress, but his wife would have none of it. The businessman gave a simple, crisp answer to sum up the whole thing. He said his wife has a mind of her own and that she does not listen to him.
Shark Tank India is available to stream on SonyLIV.
