It isn't only the judges of Shark Tank India who became subjects for several trolls and memes. Rannvijay Singha, the host of season one of the show, was also not spared by the netizens. The host became the talk of the town with several memes about him when he offered an upGrad MBA to an entrepreneur who had come to pitch his idea on the business reality show.

Singha was trolled brutally on social media for offering the programme to a contestant, who is an IIT-PhD graduate and an electrical engineer at the age of just 26. He is said to have done his post-graduation from Stanford University, according to the viral video, which led to all the trolling. The former Roadies host opened up about the memes and being subjected to trolls during an interaction with Economic Times. The anchor seems to have looked at it very positively. Having done Splitsvilla and Roadies, he has developed a thick skin and is used to being subjected to memes. He claimed that being a subject to several memes made him 'current'.

He said that he follows Michael Jordan for many reasons and when he cried, he was subjected to trolls and memes as well and he became 'current'. He further said that it was his job to offer the course as the host of the show at the sharks' discretion. He said a particular degree does not mean a person cannot pursue other courses and many engineers have done MBA later to 'touch all bases'. He believes an extra degree is always beneficial.

Singha said he finds the memes very funny and they are one of the best things that could happen to a new show like Shark Tank India. Shark Tank India is an official adaptation of the US show Shark Tank, which is available to stream on SonyLIV. The show is about budding entrepreneurs pitching their business models to sharks or investors for funds in exchange for equity stakes in their company.
