Shark Tank India season 5 is here, and it takes a dig at the gap between rich and poor in India. Addressing CEOs as 'bechaare' looking upon the situation of villages in India from their penthouse and sharing a seat in a helicopter, the promo questions why these CEO cannot be as rich as the Arabs. They then urge the workers to work extra hard and overtime to help the CEOs reach their goal, while asking the employees to refrain from starting their own business so that they can help their bosses unlock a new status in the society.
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone had quit a movie stating that she needs an 8-hour shift to balance her work and life, especially now that she is a new mother. This started a discussion about the lack of work-life balance in India overall, because the statement came months after another CEO claimed that he has worked long hours and expects his employees to do the same. Shark Tank India season 5 appears to take a dig at the same work-life balance discussion over breaking the mould and investing in one's own dream.
