Through its exceptional concept, that Indian reality TV rarely witnessed, Shark Tank India provided a revolutionary opportunity by providing entrepreneurs a much needed leg up to get their businesses up and running. Some of the entrepreneurs who made their way into the tank also seemed to have made their way onto its stage after going through their fair share of struggles and hardships, coming out all the more stronger for it as well. One among them were the founders of Revamp Moto.
Jayesh Tope, Pushkaraj Salunke and Pritesh Mahajan, the co-founders of Revamp Moto pitched their idea for a two wheeler ‘modular utility platform’ designed to aid vendors on the go to conduct their business easier. Impressed with their pitch, boAt co-founder and CMO Aman Gupta, Shaadi.com founder and CEO Anupam Mittal and BharatPe founder Ashneer Grover had offered the trio a deal, with the former two going in together. But before the entrepreneurs managed to get an offer from some of the most successful businessmen in the country, did you know there was a time when the three wanted to call it quits on their dream?
In conversation with content creator Chetan Mahajan, Tope recalls a time over a year ago when they had seriously thought about quitting the business. The entrepreneur remarked that a world of change can happen in just a year, and he hoped that their story would also help to inspire others as well. He wanted to hit home the message that despite hardships, people should never give up trying.
On Shark Tank India, the entrepreneurs eventually decided to go for a deal with Aman and Anupam, getting Rs 1 crore for a stake of 2% equity in the company.
