Sharmila Tagore to travel to Bangladesh to attend Dhaka International Film Festival

Veteran Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore will be going to Dhaka to attend the 22nd Dhaka International Film Festival. The festival is scheduled to start on January 20, 2024, and will go on till January 28. Sharmila will act as one of the jury members of the Asian Competition section.

The festival authority said that the other jury members in that panel would be the Russian producer Anna Shalashina, Chinese film personality and producer Shi Chuan, Bangladeshi maker Samia Jaman, and the director and producer Tom Waller from Thailand. They will select the best film, best director, best actor, best actress, best screenplay, and best DOP.

The director of the Dhaka International Film Festival, Ahmed Mujtaba Jamal, said, “Sharmila Tagore will visit Dhaka between January 20 and January 28. She and the other jury members will be present in the festival and give their verdicts on the films submitted in that section.”

The Dhaka International Film Festival started in 1992. It is organised by the Rainbow Film Society. More than 250 films from 75 countries will be in the coming 22nd year's festival.
