Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has been grabbing attention since it premiered on Netflix on May 1, 2024. One of the actors in the show and Bhansali's niece, Sharmin Segal, has been making headlines since the show was released, however, for all the wrong reasons. The actress, who is seen playing the role of Alamzab in the show, is trolled for her acting skills as well as has been accused of her rude behavior towards her co-stars.
In an early interview, when Sharmin termed Aditi Rao Hydari as a 'schoolgirl', the internet did not let it go but called her rude, and rumors about rifts between the actresses began on social media. Now Segal spoke about the same in a recent interview with India Today and revealed that they share a really close bond and slammed allegations against her.
Sharmin Segal told the portal, “I think it’s unfair to judge or label someone a bad, rude, or disrespectful person without knowing them. I think it’s unfair, and it bothers me in some ways. For me, a comment section cannot define a person as good or bad because those people do not know me.”
Sharmin also talked about her 'schoolgirl' remark against Aditi and said that it was taken out of context while she thought she was roasting her. She then confessed that her tone might have been aggressive and she should have toned it down. She also talked about her equation with Aditi Rao Hydari and added, “Aditi looks out for me. I look out for her… she’s one of the people who most actively called me, checked in, and ensured I was okay throughout this month. I love her. It’s a complete misrepresentation of my equation with Aditi. I only have respect for her.”
Besides Sharmin and Aditi, Heeramandi also stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Fardeen Khan, Shekhar Suman, and others. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more on this and everything else in the world of streaming and films.
