She season 2: Aaditi Pohankar, Arif Ali recall ‘fleeing’ from cops while filming Imtiaz Ali’s series

She is gearing up for another exciting season where Bhumi takes another deep dive into the underbelly of Mumbai’s drug trade. Aaditi Pohankar returns as Bhumi, for the second season, written by Imtiaz Ali and directed by Arif Ali. The trio recently recalled an incident which got them into some trouble with the law.

In conversation with The Quint, Arif recalled a moment where the makers had started filming the show unaware that a lockdown was in place. They had been in the middle of filming the second season in Horniman Circle in Mumbai when they were approached by police officers.

The director remarked that they ‘literally had to flee’ then. Aaditi added that the incident had taken place past midnight and although they were able to laugh about the incident now, at the time they had a very real fear of whether they would go to jail. Arif also revealed that they were also afraid of their equipment being confiscated, but could not help being amused by Aaditi’s reaction. Imtiaz also hilariously added that since Aaditi was a sprinter and athlete, she had no problem in outrunning the cops.

The upcoming crime drama follows the story of a constable who goes undercover as a prostitute to take down a drug ring. The show was created by Imtiaz, who also serves as its showrunner. In addition to Aaditi, the series also features Kishore Kumar G, Vishwas Kini, Shivani Rangole, Sam Mohan, and Suhita Thatte in prominent roles. The show is produced by Viacom 18 Studios' Tipping Point and Window Seat Films.

She season 2, which will have seven episodes, will start streaming on Netflix from June 17 onwards.
