Shefali Shah says she is enjoying the current stage of her playing career and is not in a rush to helm her first major film. The actor's year began with the medical thriller series Human on Disney+ Hotstar. She then released the social thriller Jalsa on Prime Video, for which she received the best actress award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne last month.
The actor is on a roll after receiving positive reviews for his two recent Netflix productions: the dark comedy film Darlings and season two of the acclaimed police procedural series Delhi Crime.
Following the release of two short films in 2020, Shah was asked if she intended to direct her first feature-length film. She confirmed it to PTI but said it would happen in good time. She admitted to being addicted to directing the two short films, Someday and Happy Birthday Mummy Ji, which are based on COVID-19 and star her.
The National Award winner continued that when she decides to change gears, all her energies will go in that direction. Shah is loving this stage of her career as an actor right now. She first starred in Human, followed by Jalsa, Darlings, and now Delhi Crime 2. The actor is having a great time in this area. Therefore, she doesn't think it's a smart idea to take a project off the grid.
She said it takes a lot of work and time to plunge into something like that, adding that she wouldn't be doing anything else when she does that, but she will. Shah wants to be able to devote that undiluted time when she's ready.
The actor will next be seen in Doctor G, directed by Anubhuti Kashyap. The film features Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles. The release date of the social comedy is yet to be announced. However, the first look posters of the lead actors are already out on social media pages.
