Can you imagine Diljit Dosanjh’s Honsla Rakh and Shehnaaz Gill not be a part of it? Well, that was going to be the case at one given point of time. A Television actress was going to be cast for the role of Sweety (Shehnaaz’s character).
The actress is Chhoti Sardarni’s Nimrat Kaur Ahluwalia. She revealed about the same during an interview with Hindustan Times.
Nimrat said that Diljit himself reached out to her for Jasmine’s part in Honsla Rakh. In fact, she started crying after reading his text when she woke up.
According to Nimrat, Diljit sent her a text on Instagram. While she was filled with joy on seeing the text, Nimrat could not take up the role because COVID-19 was at its peak and she was already working on her show to be able to focus on the film.
Honsla Rakh is one-of-its kind Punjabi film where the hero and heroine are not involved in a romantic love angle. Even if Shehnaaz Gill appeared in the film, she played a bold woman named Sweety who broke the boundaries set in Pollywood.
Even though most Punjabi films still promote the culture of love and families, Honsla Rakh saw Sweety take a stand and throw Yenkey Singh (Diljit) out of her life after giving birth to their son, Honsla.
The movie also saw Sonam Bajwa as the lead actress. She played the role of Yenkey’s latest love interest, Jasmine.
Shehnaaz became a popular name all across India after appearing on Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 13. #SidNaaz (Trophy winner Sidharth Shukla and Shehnaaz Gill) became a craze when the show aired.
Currently, Shehnaaz is gearing up to make her Bollywood debut and Salman is helping her with the same. Reportedly, she has been signed in for a role in his film, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali.
