Sherlyn Chopra shares news of Rakhi Sawant’s arrest, here’s all we know

Rakhi Sawant has found herself in the headlines yet again, this time due to her tumultuous acquaintance with Sherlyn Chopra. The duo had found themselves at odds when Sherlyn had made a statement against Sajid Khan, alleging the latter of sexual harassment. Rakhi had reportedly waved the complaint away as false, and Sherlyn and the former have been at loggerheads since then. Sherlyn recently announced that Rakhi had been arrested by the police.

Taking to Twitter, Sherlyn announced on her official handle that Rakhi had been arrested, and that the latter’s Anticipatory Bail Application had been rejected by the Mumbai sessions court.

According to a report in India today, Sherlyn had lodged a complaint against Rakhi for defamation, when Rakhi defended Sajid.

Sherlyn was one of the many women who has accused filmmaker Sajid of sexual harassment during the wave of the #MeToo movement in the country. In an interview with Filmibeat, Sherlyn had spoken about the harrowing details of the same, saying "When I had visited Sajid at his house for a story narration, he had flashed his private part at me and asked me to rate it on a scale of 0 to 10”.

The actress also voiced her concern about Sajid being a contestant on the latest season of Bigg Boss, saying the makers of the show, including host Salman Khan, needed to take accountability for their actions and consider the plight of the filmmaker’s victims. She had appealed to Salman to kick Sajid out of the show.

Rakhi, who has been a part of multiple seasons of Bigg Boss, had defended Sajid. Mandana Karimi, Saloni Chopra, Rachel White and Jiah Khan’s sister are some of the other women who have accused Sajid Khan of sexual harassment. Sajid recently exited Bigg Boss season 16, after completing more than 100 days on the show.
