A new song from Shershaah is out and it's a love ballad featuring the lead actors Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani. Titled Ranjha, the duo plays the role of the real-life couple - Kargil War hero PVC Captain Vikram Batra and Dimple Cheema. The picturisation of the song is beautiful and the lead actors show their palpable chemistry for the first time. The video starts with a Gurudwara sequence where Sidharth's character is seen looking in awe at Kiara.

The song sequence is shot in picturesque locations with mountains surrounding the roads as they go on a bike ride. Sidharth and Kiara enact how difficult it is to let go of that special someone whom you love as that's what happened with Vikram and Dimple.

The makers described the song as "When you've finally gotten to be with the love of your life, how do you say goodbye so soon? How do you tell him just to stay a little while longer, especially if he's leaving for a long time to serve the nation?"

Ranjha is crooned by B Praak and Jasleen Royal while the latter also composed it. The lyrics are penned by Anvita Dutt.

Talking about Shershaah, the film is directed by Vishnu Varadhan and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment.

The biopic is based on the life and times of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) who gave his life for the nation during the Kargil War. Sidharth plays a double role in the film also as Vikram's identical brother Vishal Batra.

The film also features Shiv Panditt, Raj Arjun, Pranay Pachauri, Himanshu Ashok Malhotra, Nikitin Dheer, Anil Charanjeett, Sahil Vaid, Shataf Figar and Pawan Chopra in pivotal roles.

Shershaah is set for an OTT release and will stream from August 12, 2021, on Amazon Prime Video.
