After showing her badass avatar as Yelena Belova in Black Widow, Florence Pugh has reprised her role in the Jeremy Renner-starrer Hawkeye series. A glimpse of the actor was shown in the latest episode titled "Partners, Am I Right?" of the Disney+ show. Now, Pugh took to her Instagram page and finally confirmed that it was indeed her in the episode, and she is all set to avenge her sister Natasha Romanoff's death from Clint Barton.
In the photos shared by the actor, she is seen hitting Barton in the first photo during a fighting sequence on the rooftop. While the second photo reveals that Belova looks like Pugh, she captioned her post as "... She’s here. #hawkeyeseries #YelenaBelova."
For the uninitiated, Clint (Renner) and Kate (Hailee Steinfeld) are surrounded by both Yelena (Pugh) and Maya (Alaqua Cox) on the rooftop across the street from the latter's apartment as they seek to reclaim the Rolex taken from the Avengers base late in the episode. While the fight begins with Clint fighting Natasha's sister and Kate fighting Maya, the three women finally unite, and Clint is unsure who he's fighting as all three ladies slug it out.
The fight eventually comes to an end with a brief pause between Kate and Yelena before the latter flees. With a subtle nod, Kate pulls an arrow on Yelena, who discourages her from releasing it.
Hawkeye is formally connecting the storylines established in both Avengers: Endgame with Natasha and the events of Black Widow, which saw the introduction of Yelena, who was recruited by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) to hunt down Clint and avenge her sister's death, given that the series takes place after the Blip in a post-Avengers universe.
Meanwhile, the series also features Tony Dalton, Fra Fee, Brian d'Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga, and Zahn McClarnon.
