Shikara actor Sadia Khateeb joins Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan cast

Actor Sadia Khateeb is the latest addition to the star-studded cast of Anand L Rai's upcoming movie Raksha Bandhan. Taking to social media, the actress shared the news with her fans. Sharing a photo, she wrote, “Next. This one for all the brothers and sisters. Nothing like a bond as special as that. Get ready to witness a story as unique as this bond. Shooting of #Rakshabandhan has begun!.(sic)"

Recently, Akshay Kumar also tweeted about the movie and dedicated it to his sister Alka. Sharing a photo, he wrote, "Growing up my sister, Alka was my first friend. It was the most effortless friendship. @aanandlrai's #RakshaBandhan is a dedication to her and a celebration of that special bond. Day one of the shoot today, need your love and best wishes.(sic)''

Raksha Bandhan is directed by Anand L. Rai who has previously worked on blockbusters like the Tanu Weds Manu franchise and Raanjhanaa. The script is penned by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon. The movie stars Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Smrithi Srikanth taking up roles of Akshay's sisters. Bhumi Pednekar will also feature in the film alongside Akshay Kumar.

Actress Sadia Khateeb was last seen in her debut film, the Vidhu Vinod Chopra directorial, Shikara, released last year which is available to stream on Amazon Prime Videos.

Akshay Kumar on the other hand, is currently busy with back-to-back projects like Sooryavanshi, Atrangi Re, Bell Bottom among others. He was last seen in Laxmii, which is available to stream on Disney+Hotstar.
