Shilpa Shetty, Abhimanyu Dassani starrer Nikamma to hit the big screens on THIS date

Sony Pictures Films India and Sabbir Khan Films have announced the release date of the much-awaited and anticipated action entertainer Nikamma. The Abhimanyu Dassani, Shirley Setia, Shilpa Shetty, and Abhimanyu Singh starrer is set to hit the screens on June 17, 2022. The film is directed by the same person who helmed Heropanti and Baaghi, and it's one to look out for this summer.

At the theatrical premiere of Nikamma, Khan said that the entire team has been waiting very patiently for the perfect time for the world, and he is delighted to see their film finally receiving a theatrical release, which is what the film was created for.

The filmmaker further shared that Abhimanyu and Shirley's new collaboration will astound everyone, with Shilpa taking on a whole new persona. Khan is hoping that moviegoers will love Abhi and Shirley as much as they did Tiger and Kriti in their first film, Heropanti.

Abhimanyu makes his big-screen return with Nikamma, following his critically lauded debut with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota and excellent performance in his first OTT film, Meenakshi Sundareshwar. Abhimanyu says that the long wait through the pandemic has paid off. The actor said that they say that good things take time, and he feels that is true in the case of Nikamma. 

Working on this film has been a thrilling experience, and Dassani is delighted that we decided to wait for a theatrical release. Nikamma is a complete family entertainer who is best appreciated in a community theatre setting with popcorn and samosas.

Shirley Setia, the girl next door who has already dazzled audiences with her songs, is overjoyed to get her first major theatrical release. She has been waiting for this day to come, and she is overjoyed and grateful to the creators for making it possible and at the perfect time. Setia hopes that her fans continue to show their devotion to her as they have in the past.

Shilpa is pleased Nikamma has a release date fixed, and she cannot wait for fans to experience her in another avatar. It's wonderful to be back in the theatre for the actor after a 15-year absence. It's the first project Shilpa agreed to follow post her sabbatical, and Sabbir's command of the craft, as well as the unexpected and interesting role he had to give, convinced me. Avni has been one of her most difficult parts to date, but one that she has thoroughly enjoyed performing.
