Shilpa Shetty in a still from Indian Police Force
B-town diva Shilpa Shetty dropped a surprising piece of information that made fans applaud her family. The actress is currently swamped with promotional events with costars Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi, ahead of the Indian Police Force release on January 19 (Prime Video). She revealed that it was her son who inspired her to take the cop role in Rohit Shetty’s “Indian Police Force.” Here’s how the journey started with a challenging role...
The 48-year-old actress opened up about the person who pushed her to take the role and you’ll be surprised to know that the mature suggestion came from her young son Viaan. In a candid conversation with Instant Bollywood, Shilpa Shetty disclosed how she was a bit skeptical about taking a challenging and investing role as she was already busy in Sukhee and India’s Got Talent. When asked how she managed to balance out different characters by switching every time, the actress revealed her vulnerabilities and what made her make the right decision. “My son expressed that I should do the part. He said, Mumma, I don’t know about the rest but you must do this,” Shetty said. She also shared how the addition of another big project meant spending less time with her kids as she dedicated a large amount of time to the shoot.
The Baazigar actress further revealed that one of the reasons for her 11-year-old kid pushing her to take the role was that he is a big fan of action director Rohit Shetty.
He said, “Mumma don’t worry about me and don’t worry about Samisha, we will do it”
The Dhadkan actress also credited to director-turned-actor husband Raj Kundra for being quite supportive. She expressed gratitude towards the entire family for standing beside her and holding the fort.
Shilpa Shetty will be making a grand entry in the role of a determined and passionate cop, Tara Shetty, in the action series that is premiering on Amazon Prime Video on January 19. The main cast also features Bollywood actors Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi as crime-fighting police officers.
Taking to her Instagram, Shilpa Shetty shared about an event held yesterday, when the Indian Police honored the sacrifices of bravehearts of the country. "#IndianPoliceForce came together in full force to commemorate and honor the sacrifices our bravehearts selflessly make in the line of duty," she wrote in the caption with a carousel of pictures of the action series crew.
