If the latest reports are anything to go by, then Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko is all set to be seen in Telugu films once again. It looks like the actor has signed on the dotted lines for Nandamuri Balakrishna’s film, which is tentatively titled NBK109. Although an official confirmation from the team is awaited, a close source from the production team has confirmed that the Malayalam actor will play a crucial role in the film. The actor made his Telugu debut in Nani's Dasara, which was a blockbuster.

NBK 109 shoot update

The first-half schedule of NBK109 has been canned, with 50% of the shoot having been completed. Directed by Bobby Kolli and headlined by Balayya, aka Nandamuri Balakrishna, the film will also star Malayalam heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan in a pivotal role, while Animal star Bobby Deol is the antagonist. Sources say that Dulquer will play Balayya’s son and that his character has something special. With Shine Tom Chacko’s addition, it looks like the upcoming Telugu action-drama has another Malayalam star.

NBK 109 OTT partner revealed

On the occasion of Sankranthi, Netflix revealed that it had secured the OTT rights for Nandamuri Balakrishna's. The film will, therefore, be available to be streamed on the platform after its theatrical release.

Although the release date for the Balayya film has not been announced yet, it is expected to hit the big screens during Sankranti 2025. If this is true, then it will most likely clash with Chiranjeevi's fantasy Vishwambhara and Prabhas’ horror comedy The Raja Saab at the box office. Would makers risk releasing three big-budget and eagerly awaited films at the same time? Well, we think that this is unlikely, as it could impact business. But only time will tell if we are proven wrong or not.
