Shirley OTT release date – Here's when to catch the true and inspiring biopic of the first Black woman of the US Congress on THIS platform

Shirley is Oscar-winning filmmaker of 12 Years a Slave, John Ridley’s Spring entree for viewers. The film chronicles the pioneering rise of Shirley Chisholm, essayed by Regina King, who not only became the Black woman to join the US Congress but also ran a brave Presidential campaign.

Shirley releases on Netflix this Spring, on March 22, 2024. The biopic traces the astronomical rise of the political rocket Shirley Chisholm, who became the first Black Congresswoman in 1968 and ran a limit-shattering Presidential campaign in 1972 as the first Black female candidate. The dynamic and sincere Shirley, who announced in her iconic candidacy announcement speech that she was a “candidate of the American People” and not a mainstream politician.
