Today, on the occasion of Karunada Chakravarthy Shiva Rajkumar’s milestone 60th birthday, there were quite a few announcements of new collaborations and updates of his upcoming projects. One among them was for the Century Star’s 125th film, Vedha, which is his fourth film with choreographer-turned-director A Harsha, after their earlier collaborations, Bhajarangi, Vajrakaaya and Bhajarangi 2. The film is also Shiva Rajkumar’s first home production under his newly-launched banner, Geetha Productions.

Not much is known about Vedha, apart from the fact that it is set in the ‘brutal 1960s’ and pairs Shiva Rajkumar with Ganavi Laxman. Shwetha Chengappa and Aditi Sagar are also on the cast of the film, which has music by Arjun Janya and cinematography by J Swamy. The makers are looking at releasing the film in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu and have zeroed in on Christmas 2022 as its date with audiences. The team released a new poster from the film for this announcement. Turns out that by fixing Vedha as a Christmas release, Harsha has set up a box-office contest with Golden Star Ganesh’s Preetham Gubbi-directorial Baana Daariyalli, which had announced its date with audiences earlier.

Shiva Rajkumar, whose last release was the Vijay Milton directorial Bhairagee, which is currently in theatres, has Ram Dhulipudi’s Nee Sigoovaregu next. The Century Star is then committed to several films, like MG Srinivas’ Ghost, Arjun Janya’s 45, Yogaraj Bhat’s Kuladalli Keelayavudu, Sachin B Ravi’s untitled film about Ashwatthama, Lohith H’s Satyamangala, as well untitled films with Rishab Shetty and Kotresh Chappparadahalli.

Also on the actor’s birthday, the makers of Luckyman had a special announcement. The film, which is one of the late Puneeth Rajkumar’s last projects, will have its first teaser out on August 25. A remake of the Tamil film Oh My Kadavule, Luckyman has Puneeth playing God.
