Shiva Rajkumar might have delivered countless hits in his nearly four-decade-long career, but he is still unable to completely wrap his head around the craze for his cameo in Jailer. The 61-year-old actor made his Tamil debut earlier this year in the film to play the special role of Narasimha, a reformed criminal who comes back into the fray to offer help to Superstar Rajinikanth's titular character. And although the length of his role isn't considerable, the pertinence of his scenes has impressed audiences a lot, particularly those in Tamil Nadu.

So, would he be up for a 'Jailer' spin-off should someone conceive it anytime soon? The same question was posed to the Ghost actor by media outlet India Today and being the energetic personality that he is, the idea doesn't sound all that bad to him.

"I don't mind. I really don't know how it works. Nelson Dilipkumar (the director) should create and have that idea because, after the success of 'Jailer', he has more responsibility for his next film," said Shiva Rajkumar in the same conversation.

Pending Jailer sequence

In the same vein, Shiva Rajkumar also shared a possible angle with which his spin-off could be developed. It turns out there was another sequence in Jailer that was to be shot inside a prison, but director Nelson Dilipkumar eventually decided that it wouldn't be necessary for the final edit.

"If it is on the same line, then I don't mind at all. Having said that, Nelson is very good at portraying such grey characters," he said in the same conversation with India Today.

Regardless, Shiva Rajkumar has proven time and again that he can pull off a gangster or crime lord with great flair, and that's one of the main reasons why his role as Narasimha resonated so well.

Ghost emerges as a big hit

Incidentally, the same Jailer cameo also sprung Shiva Rajkumar back into his original mojo. While he has remained a highly bankable star over the years, the praise he received for his role in the Tamil film helped him gain a popularity outside Karnataka. As a result, one saw the audience responding really well to his most recent Kannada release, Ghost, in which he plays the role of a man who is pulling off a nearly impossible heist. Ghost, despite the competition it received from other big releases like Leo and Bhagavanth Kesari, has done well at the box office.
