Century Star Shivarajkumar is one of the busiest actors in Kannada cinema, and yet, when there are matters close to his heart, he always finds time for that too. Like, for instance, watching movies and encouraging fellow actors. The Hattrick Hero was recently seen catching a show of Telugu star Nani’s most latest film, Hi Nanna, in Bengaluru and Shivanna (as the actor is popularly known) could not stop gushing about the Shouryuv directorial.

Speaking to the media after the screening, Shivanna waxed eloquently about the “sensitive, emotional and very engaging film” he’d seen, the last 20 minutes of which left him teary-eyed and made him an even bigger fan of the Natural Star. Hi Nanna, the Kannada star felt, appealed to him more because it is a beautiful tale of a father and daughter and, as a father to two daughters himself, he could relate to the subject. Without revealing too much of the plot, the actor spoke about how painful it is for parents to see their children suffering, an experience he had not long ago, when his eldest, Nirupama had a bout of ill health, following alleged weight loss surgery.

“Hi Nanna is an amazing film; one that is a beautiful family entertainer. It is sensitive and emotional and will appeal to anyone who has a daughter. I have two daughters and could connect easily to the subject. It’s hard for parents when something happens to their children, and I could feel that emotion, because my daughter also had a bad spell for a while,” he said, adding that it was amazing how the director managed to maintain an element of suspense in a family drama. Shivarajkumar also gushed praise for Nani and his co-star Mrunal Thakur.

If that wasn’t enough, Shivarajkumar then also took to social media with a special post for the team, wherein he also commended Nani’s unwavering support for debutant director Shouryuv. The Kannada star ended his message saying that Nani’s performance was not only memorable, but that his transformation from a younger version to an older one, who is a father of a young child, was mind-blowing, all of which, put together, has made Shivarajkumar an even bigger fan of Nani than he was before.
