Dheeren Ramkumar, the grandson of late Kannada matinee idol Dr Rajkumar and son of veteran actor Ramkumar, has been patiently waiting for his date with audiences for two years. It appears that the makers are ready to bring the film to theatres, what with a song release, Male Haniye, a week ago and the trailer today.
If the song Male Haniye, which had the lead pair of Dheeren and Manvitha Kamath in a lip-lock every few seconds, was any indication of how ‘intense’ this love story will be, the trailer gave audiences a sneak peek of the high-octane action in store. In an earlier interaction with us, Dheeren had spoken about how he doesn’t fancy love stories, but took up one for his film debut because of the intense elements in the narrative, which would allow him to blend a mass and class image. “The character has a lot of variations and will evoke different emotions in the audience; he can make them cry, feel irritated, or even sympathetic towards him. That’s what I found interesting about this role and why I chose it as my launchpad,” he had said, adding “I wanted to challenge myself; I wanted something different and more mature. The subject of Shiva 134 seemed just right, as I thought it would be novel for audiences. The icing on the cake is that I also get to show off my physical transformation, including six-pack abs.”
Directed by Dilwale maker Anil Kumar, Shivu 143 has been produced by Jayanna Films, with music by Arjun Janya. The film also stars Sadhu Kokila, Avinash, Chikkanna, Bala Rajwadi, Puneeth Rudranag, Shobaraj, among others and is expected to release in theatres shortly.
