Shodha OTT release date: When and where to watch Pawan Kumar led suspense thriller series

Earlier this week, Z5 announced its second original Kannada web series, a suspense thriller show called Shodha, produced by KRG Studios, a renowned distribution and production company, known for films like Rathnan Prapancha, Gurudev Hoysala, Powder and Ekka. The show, according to the latest from the streamer, has been directed by Sunil Mysuru, best known for the Raghu Dixit musical, Orchestra Mysuru, which KRG Studios had presented in theatres. Shodha will premiere on Z5 on August 29.

Shodha: Pawan Kumar's first series as lead actor

Interestingly, Sunil has got fellow filmmaker Pawan Kumar, of Lucia, Lifeu Ishtene , U-Turn, Dhoomam fame, to lead the cast. An occasional actor, Pawan was last seen in a cameo in Bachelor Party and is no stranger to the web series space. He’s acted in the Telugu series Kudi Yedamaithe, as well as Honeymoon, which was jointly produced by RJ Pradeepa’s Sakath Studio and Niveditha Shivarajkumar’s Sri Mutthu Cine Services. Pradeepa is the current Head of Originals at Z5.

Pawan, for whom headlining a series is new, said, "Acting in Shodha has been a completely new journey for me. Coming from writing and directing, stepping in front of the camera challenged me to explore emotions in a new way." A poster that Z5 released to reveal Pawan as Rohit, the show’s leading man, also has glimpses of Siri Ravikumar, who has also collaborated with Pradeepa earlier on Sakath Studio’s By Mistake. Shodha, it appears, is a story set in Kodagu.

Written by Suhas Navarathna, Shodha has music by Arjun Ramu and cinematography by Rahul Roy. Z5 began its Kannada original web series journey with Ayyana Mane , directed by Ramesh Indira, featuring Dia-fame Kushee Ravi in the lead. The supernatural thriller produced by Shruthi Naidu did not boast fresh content or treatment, but managed to clock good numbers on the streamer.
