Shohorer Ushnotomo Dine-actress Solanki Roy's comments about Gantchora leaves her fans unhappy

On June 30, Solanki Roy returned to the big screen with the film Shohorer Ushnotom Dine. Directed by Aritra Sen, this film features Vikram Chatterjee, who reunites with Solanki after their hit serial, Ichhe Nodee. Their on-screen chemistry in the film has impressed everyone.

Meanwhile, after a series of ups and downs, actress Solanki Roy bade farewell to the popular TV show Gantchora last April. The serial continued to thrive, even after she left. The TRP ratings have soared. In its new slot at 10:30 pm, the audience eagerly awaits daily twists and turns. The character of Riddhiman Singh Roy (played by Gourab Chatterjee) has made his entry into the serial as the new hero, and Sriparna Roy has joined the cast. Amidst all this, Solanki’s comment on Gantchora has sparked debates on social media.

In a recent interview, Solanki expressed her views on the serial. During a promotional event for her recent film, Shohorer Ushnotomo Dine, she was asked how much she missed the show. She replied that she didn’t miss the serial much. “I don’t miss Gantchora. Leaving it was a conscious decision for me. However, Khori (the name of her character) influenced me as an artist. That’s why I agreed to play that character,” she said.

Upon hearing Solanki’s statement, fans of Gantchora were upset. They missed her so much. Many of them had even stopped watching the serial regularly after she left it. On social media, some even labeled her as ‘arrogant.’ However, the fans of the actress still stand by Solanki. They argue that her statement was misinterpreted on social media. Another interview surfaced where Solanki clarified her statement. She said, “I don’t feel sad without the serial, but I do miss the co-actors who were an integral part of my journey. Gourab, Sreema, Anushka, Anindya, and Riaz – we had a strong bond. Friendship doesn’t fade, but I miss seeing them every day.”

Sharing Solanki’s statement, a fan wrote on social media, “Solanki doesn’t miss Gantchora. That’s absolutely fine. But she does miss her co-actors, and she maintains a good relationship with them. If she were arrogant, she would have severed ties with everything related to the serial. Let’s not blow this small issue out of proportion.”
