On Tuesday, Real Star Upendra launched the first look poster and teaser of Shreyas Manju’s next, which has been directed by Nanda Kishore. This is the third film for Shreyas, the son of veteran producer K Manju. After his debut Paddehuli, which had ample doses of stunts and allowed Shreyas to show off his action prowess, Raana, it would appear, will see the young actor up this by several notches. If the teaser is any indication, there will be quite a bit of bloodshed too. The actor has earlier been quoted as saying that he was working on his physique for Raana, as it has a mass-action subject, which is different from his two other films, adding that the film will give him an image makeover as well.

At the event, the team announced thatthe film is nearly complete, and attributed the delays to pandemic restrictions and inability to shoot at certain locations. Nanda Kishore said that the film is turning out well. Raana sees Nanda collaborate with rapper Chandan Shetty yet again, after Pogaru, for the film’s music, the songs of which will be released in due course of time. There will be four songs that will complement the mass-action feel of the film. Thanking Upendra for gracing the occasion and encouraging new talent like him, Shreyas said that he has learnt a lot from the Real Star, as well as from Shivarajkumar on the art of effectively wielding a machete onscreen. Stunt-coordinator-director Ravi Varma has choreographed the action sequences of the film, which will be a highlight, said the team.

Produced by Gujjal Purushottam for Gujjal Talkies, Raana will be Shreyas’ next after the romantic drama Vishnu Priya. Nanda Kishore had earlier announced a follow-up film with Dhruva Sarja after Pogaru, but went on to helm Raana instead. The film has two heroines, namely Reeshma Nanaiah, who is set to debut with actor-director’s next Ek Love Ya, and Rajani Bharadwaj.
