With the Telugu hit Pushpa: The Rise and the teaser for its sequel, Pushpa: The Rule, the Marathi and Hindi film industries' Shreyas Talpade discussed the difficulties in dubbing the language into Hindi.
Pushpa, written and directed by Sukumar, stars Allu Arjun in the titular role and Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. The plot centres on Pushpa Raj, a labourer from the Andhra Pradesh district of Chittoor who traffics red sandalwood via the Seshachalam Hills.
Shreyas recounted his time spent with the Pushpa: The Rise crew and told IANS that he had no idea the film would become that enormous when he dubbed for the first part, and this time when he went back to dub, he was aware of the size of the production. But in the end, it was that one sentence that struck a chord with him; it gave him chills, and it was wonderful to think back on his journey with Pushpa.
He recently completed the dubbing for the Pushpa: The Rule teaser and described it as a difficult task.
Shreyas said that the dub for the Pushpa: The Rule trailer was like a breath of fresh air. As a perfectionist, he wanted to experience the character and properly match their feelings, which was difficult given that the vocal modulation also needed to strike the right chord. He must sound comparable, for instance, if the character is eating something. So, the voice and the character's motion have to be properly coordinated. Everyone will love the sequel; the actor is sure of it.
In 2009, he also completed the Hindi dubbing for the English movie The Lion King. In Kangana Ranaut's Emergency, Shreyas will be seen as the late former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Meanwhile, the teaser for Pushpa: The Rule was unveiled on the occasion of Allu Arjun's birthday, which broke the internet instantly.
