Tomorrow, on April 23, Hindus across the globe will be celebrating Hanuman Jayanti. On the special day, the creators of the TV show, Shrimad Ramayan have decided to air a special episode on the occasion.

Special episode of Shrimad Ramayan

Sony LIV recently announced that a special episode for followers of Lord Hanuman will be aired on coming Tuesday. The episode will simply sum up the challenges faced by the divine deity during his childhood.

What is happening in the show presently?

In the show airing these days, we see Lord Rama searching for his kidnapped wife, Goddess Sita in a forest. Goddess Sita – as per Indian mythology, was kidnapped by the demon Ravana. Ravana kept Goddess Sita hidden in Ashok Vatika (present-day Sri Lanka). During Lord Rama’s search, he is helped by his ardent follower, Lord Hanuman, and the army of King Sugreva. The army, notably, included only armed monkeys. It is believed that these monkeys, popularly addressed as the Vanar Sena, defeated the mighty demons in Lanka.

Lord Rama is believed to be an avatar of Lord Vishnu, while Goddess Sita is considered an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. Lord Hanuman is an incarnation of Lord Shiva partly.
