Actress Shriya Pilgaonkar has been winning the attention of the OTT audience through her performance in Guilty Minds. She is now all set for the release of the upcoming ZEE5 webseries The Broken News, in which she will be seen sharing screen space with Jaideep Ahlawat and Sonali Bendre.

The series, which is set to drop on June 10, revolves around two rival TV news channels and their varying ideologies. Shriya plays Radha Bhargava, a journalist with strong principles and ethics, and is caught between the two networks headed by Amina Qureshi (Sonali Bendra) and Dipankar Sanyal (Jaideep Ahlawat).

Talking about the show to Tellychakkar, Shriya said that it is an authentic depiction of what happens behind the news. The Broken News has an array of characters that are all different from each other, she says, adding that the arguments between Radha and her editors is one of the highlights of the series that has drama and suspense.

On being asked how she reacts to news about her, the actress said that whenever she reads any bizarre about her, it makes her uncomfortable. She also added that the people will form their own judgments regardless of the truth, added Shriya. The Broken News also touches this aspect of how people’s lives are influenced and impacted just by headlines, she explained.

Meanwhile, the actress also said that she was thrilled about working with veteran actors Sonali and Jaideep in the web series. Shriya said she has been a massive fan of both actors and watching their perform as Amina and Dipankar during the series also helped her learn more about their craft.

The Broken News is directed by Vinay Waikul and is adapted from the BBC web series Press.
