Tripathi made her Bollywood debut with Neeraj Ghaywan's directorial film Masaan. She was paired opposite renowned Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal. The film did not only receive accolades at Cannes Film Festival in 2015 but was also recognized at the 63rd National Film Awards and Stardust Awards.

She is one of the actors who featured in one of the biggest web series of the year 2020, Mirzapur 2.

In one of her interviews, she claimed that her character Golu from Mirzapur is one of the most complex and complicated characters that she has ever played. She also stressed over the fact that her personal life and Golu’s life are a world apart from each other. The actor also believed she was lucky to keep working amid the pandemic.

Fun fact: For the uninitiated, Tripathi goes by the handle name BatataWada on her Instagram account.

Haraamkhor

Haraamkhor, a romantic drama directed by Shlok Sharma, revolves around an affair between a teacher Shyam Tekchand (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and 15-year-old student Sandhya, played by Tripathi.

This experimental cinema offers some undeniably shocking truths of the inappropriate teacher-student relationships. Haraamkhor is one of the critically acclaimed films of 2015.

Fun fact: Haraamkhor was shot in just 16 days.

Gone Kesh

Gone Kesh is a comedy-drama film written and directed by debutant Qasim Khallow and produced by Dhiraj Ghosh.

The story revolves around a teenage girl, Enakshi, played by BatataWada. The character is an aspiring dancer diagnosed with alopecia. A boy named Srijoy (Jitendra Kumar) is in love with Enakshi from school days but doesn’t know about her condition.

Gone Kesh can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.

Kya Mast Hai Life

Even before making her debut in Bollywood, the Mirzapur actor started her career with Disney Channel’s Indian teen sitcom television series Kya Mast Hai Life in 2009.

The story of the show revolves around the day-to-day life of five college friends starring Tripathi alongside Nazneen Ghani, Sana Amin Sheikh, Ashish Juneja, and Shaheer Sheikh (the famous Arjun from 2013 Star Plus show Mahabharata). She played the role of Zenia Khan on the show.

Kya Mast Hai Life was followed by its sequel in the year 2010. The show, which once aired on Bindass, is now available on YouTube.

Lakhon Mein Ek S2

Laakhon Mein Ek S2 is an Amazon Prime Video original series. Directed by Abhishek Sengupta, the show stars Tripathi, Suyash Joshi and Sandeep Mehta.

Dr. Shreya (Tripathi) is posted in Sitlapur village to conduct a cataract camp. She comes across many challenges including fewer medical supplies and medical facilities in the government hospital and the staff isn't also the dream team one would desire. With that, she also has to deal with the villagers who are not the biggest believers in Government healthcare.

Love Shots

Love Shots is the six-episode web series directed by musician-turned-filmmaker Ankur Tiwari. Each of these episodes consists of a love story.

The name Love Shots fits aptly on the series of these instant love stories, whipped, baked, and served in less than ten minutes.

The second episode, Koi Dekh Lega, featured Saqib Saleem and Tripathi as a blind couple flirts while waiting for a bus. The episode beautifully portrays their comfort and trust in each other even being visually challenged.
