Satyadev Janga has penned the story for this film directed by Rahul Sankrityan. The film's trailer was unveiled today at University College Grounds, Kakatiya University, Hanamkonda in Warangal, in the presence of the students amid the cast and crew. The trailer showcases a playful Nani as Vasu in a modern-day setting, where he's a small-time filmmaker who falls in love with an emerging actress. A series of mysterious events later, the life of a social reformer has an uncanny link with Vasu.

The later part of the trailer shifts to Bengal and has Nani transform into Shyam Singha Roy, a writer and a social reformer, who falls in love with a Devadasi (Sai Pallavi) and is committed to liberate her from superstitions and dogmas that wreak havoc in her life. Rahul Ravindran is cast as his friend. It's not a smooth journey for Shyam Singha Roy by any means to stand up for the voiceless. However, what does Vasu have to do with Shyam Singha Roy? Madonna Sebastian, Leela Samson and Abhinav Gomatam also make their presence felt.

Make no mistake, Shyam Singha Roy trailer is a complete Nani show and he steals the limelight fully. The formidable cast, the authentic Bengali setting and the intense background score does elevate the impact. Murali Sharma, Jisshu Sengupta, Manish Wadwa and Barun Chanda essay supporting roles in this drama that's been extensively filmed in various locations in the vicinity of Kolkata and Hyderabad. The film, slated to be high on VFX, wrapped its shoot earlier.

Three songs from the album, composed by Mickey J Meyer are out already - Rise of Shyam, Sirivennela, Edo Edo. Among them, Sirivennela was the last song penned by late lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastri. Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights. Shyam Singha Roy is produced by Venkat Boyapanpalli under Niharika Entertainments.
