Maayon, the mythological thriller starring Sibiraj (as referred as Sibi Sathyaraj, son of actor Sathyaraj) and Tanya Ravichandran in the lead, directed by Kishore, opened to decent responses from critics and audiences alike in Tamil Nadu recently. The film's having a grand release in Telugu across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as well with the same title on July 7. The Telugu pre-release event of the film was held in Hyderabad was held on Friday.
"I thank Vijayendra Prasad sir for gracing the event. I've been a big fan of your work, right from Baahubali to RRR to Bajrangi Bhaijaan. If there's any writer who has a fan-following as much as an actor in Tamil Nadu, it's you. Maayon is a mythological thriller where I play an archaeologist. It has equal doses of science, spirituality and mystery. It has been received very well in Tamil Nadu, I hope the result will be the same in Telugu states too," Sibiraj shared.
"Generally it's a custom to host a success meet whenever a film is performing well. We couldn't host one for the Tamil version. So I consider the pre-release event of the Telugu version as the success meet of the Tamil version. I am sure we'll host one more success event after the Telugu release in Hyderabad. I must thank the entire team, composer Ilaiyaraja for working on the film. I am grateful to Kishore for choosing me to play this role over any other actor," he added.
Reportedly, he's been receiving comments from many that Maayon was his career-best in terms of his looks, for which Sibiraj thanked cinematographer Ram Prasad. The actor also shared his happiness about working with his co-stars Tanya Ravichandran, Radha Ravi, KS Ravi Kumar, SA Chandrasekhar and Hareesh Peradi, to name a few. "I hope you all encourage Maayon and my journey the same way you've supported my dad Sathyaraj's career," Sibiraj mentioned.
Mamidala Srinivas of Movie Max has acquired the Telugu rights of Maayon. The event was also attended by actor Sathya Prakash, producer Prasanna Kumar, Tummalapalli Rama Satyanarayana and others to name a few.
