Director Suni’s second film with Golden Star Ganesh, Sakath, is all to release this Friday (November 26). Expectations are high for the Suni-Ganesh combination, given that their previous collaboration, Chamak, was quite the fun ride. This time around, Suni pairs Ganesh with Nishvika Naidu, in a tale about a ‘visually-challenged’ aspiring musician, who becomes a participant of a music reality show.

Interestingly, though, the teaser of Ganesh’s character Balu, and the song Premakke Kannilla that the team has released so far point to the fact that he isn’t actually visually-challenged, but only pretending to be so. While it is being speculated that Balu’s pretense is to score brownie points in the music show that he participates in, the actual reason should become clear to us on Friday. Nishvika, meanwhile, plays a visually-challenged teacher in the film.

Today, meanwhile, the team released yet another song from the film, this time a romantic melody sung by Sid Sriram, who is steadily becoming Kannada cinema’s flavour of the season. The singer is already on his fourth song in Sandalwood, although this one, called Shuruvagide, is his first for Ganesh. Composed by Judah Sandhy, song features Ganesh with Surbhi Puranik, who forays into Kannada cinema with Sakath. Written by Arjun Luis, the song has been choreographed by Mohan, with visuals by Santhosh Rai Pathaje. While Judah’s composition strikes one on the first listen, its impact is, most definitely, heightened by Sid’s vocals.

Sid’s Sandalwood journey began this year with Haayagide from the recent Tom & Jerry, which was followed up by Nee Sigoovaregu from Bhajarangi 2. Although the team of Love You Racchu announced Muddu Neenu as his third in Kannada, Shuruvagide his fourth, will become the third in the chronology of film releases.
