The year was 2001 when Anil Kapoor starrer Nayak went on to stun the audience because of the flawless performance in combination with the spell binding script. Anil Kapoor’s portrayal of ‘One day Chief Minister’ was simply loved by everyone. Even though many wished for the film’s sequel, till about yesterday, it seemed like an impossible thought!

But today, the good news is out that the much awaited and hugely manifested sequel to the smash hit film Nayak is in the making! Yes… you read it right. The sequel of the Anil Kapoor starrer Nayak (which has been reportedly titled Nayak 2) is in the making.

Siddharth Anand and Milan Luthria to helm the sequel?

As per a report in Pinkvilla, the people who will be in charge of bringing the sequel are Siddharth Anand and Milan Luthria. The sequel, which has been reported to be an action entertainer, will be produced by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand under the banner of ‘Marflix Entertainment’. The film, which will be directed by Milan Luthria, will see Rajat Arora as the writer.

The film’s sequel will reportedly have a backdrop of politics, much like the original film Nayak. As for the film’s plot it has been reported that it will be having a strong undercurrent of being a vigilante film. The same news report added that the tentatively titled Nayak 2 will be going on floors in the second half of this year (2024). Besides the fact that Nayak's sequel is being made, the said film is also special in many other ways. The film will mark the reunion of Rajat Arora and Milan Luthria.

As for the film’s casting is concerned, it is believed that the film’s makers are in the process of selecting and finalising the right sets of actors, who can do full justice to the original, as the cinegoers will surely have humongous expectations from the sequel.
