Actor Siddharth, who was last seen in the critically acclaimed film Chithha, has announced a new film with director Sri Ganesh. The film will be bankrolled by the Shanthi Talkies production banner, which earlier made Maaveeran.
Siddharth and Sri Ganesh join hands
On Friday, actor Siddharth announced his new film, which is tentatively titled Siddharth 40. The film will be helmed by director Sri Ganesh of 8 Thottakkal fame. It will mark the first time the duo will be collaborating. The film will be produced by Arun Viswa under the banner Shanthi Talkies, which made the 2023 hit film Maaveeran starring Sivakarthikeyan.
“Siddharth 40 will feature a story with universal appeal and content that resonates with hearts across borders. We are excited to share it with you soon,” a note from the makers said. The shooting of Siddharth 40 will commence in June, and the details about others in the cast and crew will be revealed soon.
In a statement, Siddharth expressed his excitement over the collaboration and added, “I listened to several scripts, and the one narrated by Sri Ganesh excited me. A producer’s delight is always about making movies that leave a neat impact on the audience. I felt those vibes with Arun Viswa, whose sheer vision to create interesting movies amazed me.”
Director Sri Ganesh also said that when he started working on the script, he wanted an actor who could exhibit “duality of a youthful and matured dimension in all aspects.” He also revealed that the team is talking with big actors and that one of them would be a “sparkling onscreen couple.”
Siddharth’s line-up of films
Siddharth was last seen in Chithha, which he also produced. The critically acclaimed film threw light on child sexual abuse, with Siddharth’s performance winning appreciations. The actor will be next seen in the Indian 2, which is the sequel to S Shankar and Kamal Haasan's Indian. He also has Test, co-starring actors Madhavan, Nayanthara and Meera Jasmine. The film is directed by Sashikanth.
