Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer Shershaah becomes Amazon Prime Video's most-watched film

Sidharth Malhotra is 'overwhelmed' and is celebrating the success of his recent film Shershaah as it becomes the most-watched film on the streaming giant Amazon Prime Video. The film has been reported to have been watched in 210 countries and regions around the world, and by people in over 4,100 cities and towns in India.

The actor took to Instagram to share his joy. He wrote: "Overwhelmed with the love and appreciation that we are receiving for #Shershaah. Thank you, everyone, for making it the most-watched film on @primevideoin. #FeelingBlessed #YehDilMaangeMore" (sic)

Kiara Advani also thanked fans for showering their love and appreciating the film. The actor plays the role of Dimple Cheema in the war drama.

The Vishnu Varadhan directorial also got a rating of 8.9 on IMDb, making it the most popular Hindi film of all time on the platform. The co-producer of the film Karan Johar told Indian Express that he's proud to be part of the team and the film that's receiving so much love and appreciation. "It fills me with pride to see the love Sidharth and Kiara's performances and Vishnu's directorial vision has received," he added.

Earlier, superstar Kamal Haasan had also taken to social media to share his review of the film. He had said the film makes his chest swell with pride. He had posted that he's usually apprehensive about Indian films portraying the lives of army men but this Sidharth-starrer film does not let them down.

The film Shershaah was released on August 12on Amazon Prime Video.
