Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani wedding: Mohanlal’s ‘mass’ reply leaves reporter red-faced

No one in Jaisalmer was spared from giving their two pence on Bollywood stars Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani’s wedding that took place on Tuesday; not even Mohanlal. The Malayalam superstar, who was leaving from the airport, was hounded by the media to share his opinion on the wedding, which he was not part of.

When he was embarrassingly asked to share what he thought about the lavish but private wedding, Mohanlal, who wore a sly smile, said, “I don’t know about that. I am not invited for that.” Another reporter tried to make amends by asking him about Jaisalmer instead, to which the actor said that it was a “beautiful city” that he has been visiting for years, probably alluding to the earlier question and that he wasn’t here because it was Sidharth and Kiara’s wedding.

Mohanlal had been in Jaisalmer for about a month now, shooting for Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Malaikottai Vaaliban as well as completing his portions from the extended cameo in Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer, which has superstar Rajinikanth in the lead.

Several Instagram users commented on the video, saying that it’s embarrassing to ask every celeb in Jaisalmer about the wedding. “This is too much…did everyone come to Jaisalmer for them? Why embarrass everybody?” a user wrote. Another commented, “People who are asking this should get out of Bollywood and check other language movies and stars like him, who will show what actual acting and movie making is… he is Malayalam movie superstar Mohanlal.” Another user said people shouldn’t travel to Jaisalmer without a wedding invite now.

Mohanlal is expected to land in Kochi to shoot a couple of promos of the upcoming Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 5, which he would be hosting from March end onwards. The actor is also expected to return to Jaisalmer in a week to resume shooting for Malaikottai Vaaliban, which reportedly has him essaying the role of a wrestler.

The film, which is scripted by PS Rafeeque, is mounted on a big budget and will have Mohanlal undergoing a massive physical transformation too. Those portions will be shot in the upcoming schedule. Apart from Mohanlal, the team has also roped in Marathi actress Sonalee Kulkarni, Kannada actor and comedian Danish Sait and Hareesh Peradi in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, Sidharth and Alia’s wedding guest list included Karan Johar, Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha.
