Portraying real-life characters on screen is always challenging for actors. Amazon Prime Video shared a special behind-the-scenes video from the upcoming film Shershaah, based on the inspiring true story of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) a.k.a Shershaah. The Vishnuvardhan directorial features Sidharth Malhotra in the lead opposite Kiara Advani.

The latest video takes a deep dive into the transformation of Sidharth for the film. The actor, who visited Captain Vikram Batra’s house, said, “As an actor, my prep started the moment I met the family. I remember going to the house in Palampur where Captain Vikram Batra stayed.” The actor further mentioned that when he saw Captain Vikram Batra’s belongings and photographs, it gave him a lot to pick up for the character too. Sidharth, who is portraying a real-life character for the first time on the screen, said that the opportunity to play Shershaah was a dream come true.

The Student of the Year actor is seen undergoing intense training for the action sequences in the video and learning to get the body language of a soldier right. Kiara, who’s essaying the character of Captain Vikram Batra’s fiance, Dimple Cheema, mentioned in the video that Sidharth is such a dedicated actor on the set. “I think he has given his blood and sweat for the role and that’s what shows in the film,” the actress added.

While Vishal Batra, Captain Vikram Batra’s brother also spoke about Sidharth and said, “I think the hard work he has put in, in understanding Vikram as a character is something which I really acknowledge.” He also mentioned that the effort the actor has put during the shoot speaks volumes about his commitment. Shershaah, which also features Shiv Pandit, Nikitin Dheer, Himmanshoo A. Malhotra and Anil Charanjeett in crucial roles, will release on Amazon Prime Video on August 12.
