Sidharth Malhotra’s Thank God is all set to hit the theatre on September 25. The actor was in Kolkata on a promotion tour of the film that also features Rakul Preet Singh and Ajay Devgn. In a recent interview with Anandabazar Patrika, the actor talked about his career, family, and upcoming projects.
Talking about the number of times he says 'thank god’, Sidharth said, “I keep on uttering ‘thank god’ multiple times a day. Seriously, when I look back I consider myself to be lucky. I came to Mumbai from Delhi to become an actor. I did not get any breaks initially. I worked as an assistant director in My Name Is Khan and that is when I started the real journey in Bollywood. Despite no major hits, I started getting work and that was a big thing. I am not really worried about money. For me, the main thing is to retain the values my parents instilled in me. I want to go to bed at night in peace. My grandfather was in the Army and I learnt discipline from him.”
Elaborating on his life lesson during the pandemic, Sidharth explained, “I understand the value of family more. I took my family for a European tour recently and we all enjoyed it a lot.”
Sidharth will soon be seen in Mission Majnu with Rashmika Mandana. Talking about Rashmika, he revealed, “Rashmika is full of life. The combination of North and South Indian actors and actresses is very nice in the film. This is my first period film. It is set in the backdrop of 1970.” He will also be seen in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming OTT series. “In fact, I am very excited about Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force. I love the way he presents a hero on screen,” he said.
During the promotion of Thank God, the actor has also visited the house of Bigg Boss 16. In a recent promo, Sidharth is seen asking Abdu Razik – who is winning hearts with his cuteness – to collect food items from each of the bedrooms in the house. Rakul Preet Singh, the female lead of the upcoming comedy, and Salman Khan are seen enjoying Abdu and Siddharth’s activities.
