Sidharth Malhotra on Yodha: If the character works, it will push us to build a franchise

Sidharth Malhotra has been in a few action movies, including Brothers (2015) and Marjaavaan (2019). But the critically acclaimed film Shershaah (2021) propelled him even further into the field. With the upcoming release of Yodha, which brings Dharma Productions into the world of high-budget action movies, the actor will soon be seen doing more movies in this genre. Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, who were in charge of directing, finished the last day of filming in Manali in September, but the movie won't come out until 2023.

Yodha is a win-win for Malhotra because it gives him the chance to do difficult stunts and has the potential to become a franchise. The actor claimed to Mid Day that action is a genre that begs for a broad scale and makes for a spectacle. The appeal of action is that it looks better on a large screen than on a small one. The thriller Yodha is based on a hijacking, and if the main character is successful, it will encourage them to start a franchise.

Meanwhile, Malhotra is gearing up for the release of his film, Thank God, which is directed by Indra Kumar. The comedy film also features Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles. Thank God is set to be a festive release and will hit the big screens on October 25, 2022, on the occasion of Diwali.

The actor has also finished filming Mission Majnu, which is Rashmika Mandanna's second Hindi movie. Also, Rohit Shetty's Indian Police Force for Amazon Prime Video, in which Malhotra will star, will be his first web series. The OTT series also stars Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Vivek Oberoi in pivotal roles. Both titles are likely to be released in 2023.
