Sikandar box office collection day 6: Salman Khan-Rashmika Mandanna starrer earns less than Rs 5 crore showing an upsetting dip

The last six days have been spent tracking the box office collection of Salman Khan’s much-talked-about Eid 2025 release, Sikandar. The movie, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, was one of the most awaited films of the year, with high expectations ever since it was announced. While the makers managed to create decent buzz around the film, it did not translate into opening day numbers as expected. The movie has witnessed a rather lukewarm reception during its opening week. Yesterday marked its first Friday post-release, and instead of gaining momentum, the film saw another dip in collections. Here's all you need to know.

Sikandar Box Office Update

For the unversed, Sikandar opened with a Rs 26 crore collection when it released last Sunday, on March 30, 2024. After collecting double-digit figures for the next two days, the film witnessed a steep 50% drop and began earning in the range of Rs 5 crore. However, yesterday—its sixth day and first Friday since release—Sikandar failed to even touch the Rs 5 crore mark, collecting only Rs 3.75 crore. This brings the film’s total domestic collection to Rs 94 crore, which is underwhelming for a Salman Khan Eid release. If the movie doesn't perform well today, it might not even cross the Rs 100 crore mark in its first week, indicating a weak trajectory.

To put this into perspective, Salman Khan’s last Eid release, Tiger 3, had collected Rs 13.25 crore on Day 6, bringing its total to Rs 200.9 crore net in India by then. This means Sikandar will need to drastically outperform over the weekend to have any chance of being labeled a “decent success.” The film now enters its first proper weekend, and all eyes are on how it performs.

Sikandar follows Sanjay Rajkot (Salman Khan), the king of Rajkot and the owner of 25% of India’s gold. Sanjay lives a life of service, helping others through his self-built syndicate. His wife Saishri (Rashmika Mandanna) is his emotional anchor, standing by him in every battle.

The film features a strong ensemble cast including Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Kajal Aggarwal, Anjani Dhawan, and others. It is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by the master storyteller A.R. Murugadoss.
