The first single from Silambarasan TR's upcoming film Pathu Thala was released at 12.06am on February 3, on the occasion of the actor's birthday. The single, titled Namma Satham, has been sung by the film's music composer AR Rahman and Yogi Sekar. Lyrics for the song are by Vivek. The song was released at 12.06, following Simbu's sentiment for the number 9. (Adding the numbers in 12.06 will yield the number 9). In the video, Silambarasan is seen in a all-black attire in his rustic look and overflowing beard. Soon after the song was released, fans have been celebrating the same on social media by sharing it widely.

Earlier, the team had released a 21-second promo of the song, which had piqued the curiosity of the fans.

Pathu Thala is a remake of the Kannada hit Mufti (2017). The neo noir crime thriller starring Shiva Rajkumar, Sri Murali and Shanvi Srivasatava revolves around a police officer's hunt for a dreaded gangster. The film is directed by Narthan, and it marked his debut in the industry. Mufti went on to become a massive hit.

The Tamil remake is helmed by  Obeli N Krishna and Silambarasan will play a gangster in the flick (the role played by Shiva Rajkumar in the original). The film also stars Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar, marking their maiden collaboration with Silambarasan TR. The rest of the star cast includes Teejay Arunasalam, Redin Kingsley and Kalaiyarasan.

While the cinematography is by Farook J Basha, editing is by Praveen KL. The film has been bankrolled by Studio Green and Pen Studios and is all set to hit screens on March 30. The post-streaming rights of the film have been bagged by Amazon Prime Video, which had also acquired the digital rights of Silambarasan's previous venture Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu (VTK). Interestingly, VTK, too, had music by AR Rahman.-
