The second single from Silambarasan TR's upcoming film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu will be released on August 14. The single, Marakkuma Nenjam, composed by AR Rahman, will be released ahead of Independence Day. Udhayanidhi Stalin, who will be releasing the film, under his banner Red Giant Movies, made the announcement on his social media page today. The single, which is sung by the composer himself, will be released at 6.21pm.

A glimpse was shared by the team in which Silambarasan, who has shed weight for his character, is seen standing in a farm with closed eyes in a farm. He is also seen holding a stick even as a leaf traverses through the farm as a breeze takes it forward. Sharing the glimpse, the production team wrote, "Here's the Glimpse of @arrahman’s Musical Magic #MarakkumaNenjam from @SilambarasanTR_ - @menongautham’s #VendhuThanindhathuKaadu releasing on Aug 14 at 6:21 PM! #VTKFromSep15 Produced by @VelsFilmIntl @IshariKGanesh A @RedGiantMovies_ Release @Udhaystalin @MShenbagamoort3 (sic)."

The first single Kaalathukkum Nee Venum was released earlier. The melody was sung by Silamabarasan and Rakshita Suresh, with lyrics penned by Thamarai.

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is directed by Gautham Menon and has Silambarasan and Siddhi Idnani playing the lead. The star cast includes Radikaa Sarathkumar, Siddique, Neeraj Madhav and Angelina Abraham. Cinemography for the film is by Siddhartha Nuni and editing is by Anthony. The film is written by B Jeyamohan and is bankrolled by Ishari Ganesh. Silambarasan will be seen in different getups in the film as his character will traverse from teenage to adulthood. The film is gearing up to hit screens on September 15.

Interestingly, this is the fourth collaboration between Gautham Menon and Silambarasan after Vinnaithaandhi Varuvaaya (2010), Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (2016) and the short film Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn (2020). The film's title has been borrowed from a poem penned by Mahakavi Subramanya Bharati.
