Manoj Bajpayee is currently promoting his recently released film, Silence 2. The actor, who is known for his versatility in the characters he plays on screen recently got nostalgic about his early days in the industry. Bajpayee talked about the days when he would get low acting fees but also revealed that he would get some money as conveyance and he would use those extra cash to make plans. 

Manoj Bajpayee reveals he used to get Rs 150 as conveyance

In a recent interview with Cyrus Broacha, Manoj shared that getting conveyance from the producers used to be a big support for actors in those days. However, he added that actors don't get it anymore as he said, "Salary was anyway less. Our biggest support used to be conveyance. We used to get Rs 150 and we used to think and plan what we would do with that Rs 150." 

He then laughed and said, "Sadly, it’s not there (anymore)." The Silence 2 actor also revealed that the actors who used their cars to travel would get fuel allowance which is also not happening anymore now. 

In another interview with Curly Tales, Manoj Bajpayee also opened up about the first salary that he earned from his debut film, Bandit Queen in 1994. He said, "My first pay cheque was from 'Bandit Queen' for Rs 10,000."

Meanwhile, the actor was recently seen in ZEE5's film, Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout. The film also stars Prachi Desai in the lead role alongside Bajpayee. The film addresses important societal issues while also maintaining the thrilling atmosphere viewers enjoyed from the previous movie. Manoj plays the role of ACP Avinash Verma in the film. He and his team investigate a mass shooting at the Night Owl Bar. 

The film is the sequel to the 2021 film Silence. Apart from Manoj and Prachi, the film also stars Sahil Satish Vaid and Vaquar Shaikh. It is directed by Aban Bharucha Deohans and started streaming on ZEE5 on April 16, 2024
