With the release of Indian Matchmaking 3, Sima Taparia is once again in the spotlight. She recently recounted her experiences as a bride, her rise to stardom, and how she got into the business of matching.
Sima told Mid Day that she arranged a match for her sister Preeti 27 years ago, and she is now happily married and living in Boston. She figured she should start playing matchmaker because of who she is and how she gets along with others. This would be a huge boon to the neighbourhood and society at large, benefiting young people everywhere. Sima just began going out and talking to strangers, and it's worked out well! In 2005, she leaped into the working world.
Apparently, even Taparia was taken aback when it rocked the world. It was beyond her wildest dreams, and people have loved the Indian values that she has taught. They have portrayed her as a lady steeped in Indian heritage, and people all over the world admire her for her morals. Many viewers might see themselves in the characters and stories on the show. Because she is genuine, honest, and speaks from the heart, Sima was thrilled at the opportunity to make her onscreen debut. She is a world-famous star thanks to the series.
Sima claims there is no script for the show. Not a single line of conversation is assigned to her; everything she says is entirely genuine. The cameras are always on her, and they can't do any takeovers. The phrases "marriages are breaking like biscuits" and "the stars are aligned" both originate from within her.
The third season of Indian Matchmaking premiered on Netflix earlier this month and once again opened to mixed reactions. The series has been a guilty pleasure of many since it started streaming on the OTT giant.
