RJ Balaji-starrer Singapore Saloon, which is gearing up for its release, is helmed by director Gokul of Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara-fame. The upcoming film, which promises to be an exciting dramedy, is the first collaboration between Balaji and the director. Besides RJ Balaji, the film also stars Lal and Nasser in pivotal roles.

The trailer of the upcoming comedy drama, which released on January 18, centres around RJ Balaji’s character who is passionate about hairdressing. The video showcases the hurdles he faces from competitors who are on a mission to take down his salon which is affecting their business. Director Gokul, who is known for his fun and entertaining films like Aasaipattai Balakumara, is sure to keep you entertained with this one! Set against the stylish world of hairdressing profession, the plot revolves around RJ Baalaji’s character who sets up a salon in Singapore but has to overcome challenges posed by his enemies to succeed in his business and passion.
The upcoming R J Balaji-starrer, which is set to release on January 25, will clash with Ashok Selvan and Shanthnu-starrer sports drama Blue Star on the same date. Although the films are of different genres, audiences will get to pick their favourite this Republic Day weekend.
Apart from the lead cast, the film will also feature Leo director Lokesh Kanagaraj and actor Jiiva in cameo appearances. Director Gokul revealed that Lokesh will be playing a celebrity in the film. “The reason we chose Lokesh is because he had launched many artists who became great stars”.
The film, which is releasing on January 25, is yet to finalise its OTT partner. However, the film is expected to be out on a streaming platform a month after its release.
The RJ Balaji-starrer, which has been shot in India and Singapore, has been made on a budget of approximately Rs 20 crore.
Besides RJ Balaji, the film also features Lal, Nasser, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Shivani Rajashekar, Kishen Das and Ann Sheetal in key roles. Written and directed by Gokul, the film's cinematography is handled by Sukumar and edited by Selva RK. The music for the film is scored by Vivek Mervin and is produced by Ishari K Ganesh under Vels Film International.
