Singer Mika Singh to search for his life partner on reality show Swayamvar: Mika Di Vohti; watch promo clip

Singer Mika Singh will soon be on a new reality show where he will look for a suitable life partner. Swayamvar: Mika Di Vohti will air on Star Bharat and will be available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar.

Star Bharat shared the promo of the upcoming show on social media. The clip begins with Singh's song 'Dhinka Chika' from the 2011 film Ready playing, and him telling his pet dog that he's in need of a life partner. 

He tells the dog that while so many people around the world groove to his songs during weddings, he's not sure what's going to happen to his own heart.

Then Singh is struck with the idea that he should look for a wife. Then a voiceover featuring the singer says, "Koi na jaane ye akelapan, koi na samjhe ye tanhaiyaan. Jab wo aayegi, tab bajegi, meri bhi shehnaiyaan (No one understands this loneliness but when she comes, wedding bells will ring for me too)."

The clip ends with Singh dressed as a groom next to an empty chair meant for his to-be partner. 

The Star Bharat tweet also links to a registration form for contestants interested to partake in the reality show. The final date is May 8. 

"Swayamvar", the process of selecting suitors for marriage, is not an alien concept in Indian reality shows. Previously, Rakhi Sawant had her own show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar in 2009 following which was engaged to Canadian businessman Elesh Punjwani. However, the relationship did not work out. 

In 2010, Rahul Mahajan had married Dimpy Ganguli on Rahul Dulhania Le Jaayega, but they divorced after Dimpy levelled allegations of domestic violence.
