Sir out on OTT: Directed by Bose Venkat, the film delves into the challenges faced by a family of teachers in a rural village

The 2024 Tamil rural action-drama film Sir, starring actor Vemal in the lead role, is now available for streaming on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium app. Sir is the latest Tamil film to begin streaming on the platform which offers a variety of streaming content in the regional language.

Actor Vemal recently starred in the rural action drama titled Sir, in which he portrayed the role of a school teacher. The film is written and directed by Bose Venkat, who makes a small cameo in the film. After its theatrical run, the film is now available for streaming on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium app. Sir is the latest addition to Aha Tamil’s content catalogue.
Sir is period drama set against the backdrop of a rural place and revolves around a family of teachers. With Vemal being the third generation to teach at the local school, the village's obsession over caste and oppression, leaves the people and children in difficult situations. The film stars Vemal in the lead role along with a cast including actors Chaya Devi Kannan, Siraj S, Saravanan, Rama, Jaiya Balan, and others.
Directed by Bose Venkat, who has also written the story, and screenplay of the film, Sir is presented by Vetrimaaran’s Grass Root Film Company. The technical crew consists of Iniyan J Harish cranking the camera and music by Siddhu Kumar. Sreejith Sarang handled the edits.
Besides Sir, Aha Tamil has also released its latest anthology title Sshhh which consists of four segments. Each segment is under half-an-hour and talks about the importance of sex education and focusses on hush topics like sex and lust.
Sshhh features actors Srikanth, Ineya, Soniya Agarwal, Aishwarya Dutta, Mime Gopi and many other new faces. It is helmed by multiple directors, including Prithivi Adithya, Vaali Mohan Das, Harish GY, and IB Karthikeyan.
