Well-known activist and Karnataka Rakshana Vedike state president Praveen Shetty's son Praveer Shetty is all set to make his debut as an actor. Praveer will be seen playing the lead in the crime-action-thriller Siren, which is set to release in theatres on May 26, and the film revolves around a young IPS officer whose very first assignment of solving a murder case ends up being an incredibly tough challenge. Raja Venkaiah makes his debut as a director with Lasya Ponnu Ash playing the female lead and Achyuth Kumar, Pavithra Lokesh, Avinash, Sharath Lohitashwa and others, too, playing important roles.
For Praveer Shetty, though, landing his debut project wasn't an easy task. Having chosen to become an actor, he would attract several offers and scripts but by his own admission, none of them were good enough to start his journey with.
"I was on the lookout for good content and a lot of people would approach me because of my father. I must have heard about 30-40 stories but none of them interested me. They were mostly quite commercial in nature with the intent of showing the hero a particular way. But I was seeking out good content because that's what brings audiences to theatres today. And when our director Raja Venkaiah sir came to me with a wonderful story, I was floored and in fact, I convinced him to take it on floors," he said in a recent interview with a YouTube channel.
Prior to venturing into the world of cinema, Praveer Shetty is said to have trained in acting at Anupam Kher's 'An Actor Prepares' school of acting in Mumbai.
