Nani, Sai Pallavi, Krithi Shetty starrer Shyam Singha Roy is gearing up for a grand release across all South Indian languages - Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam - on December 24. The film, whose story is written by Satyadev Janga, is directed by Taxiwaala-fame Rahul Sankrityan. Venkat Boyanapalli of Niharika Entertainment, who bankrolls this project, has left no stone unturned to plan several promotional activities to spread the word about the film. The third song from the film, Siribennela - reportedly the last song penned by late lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastri - was launched today.
The number sung by Anurag Kulkarni goes, 'Nela raajuni, ila raani ni kalipindikada sirivennela.. Dhoorama, dhoorama ... teeramai cherumaa...Nadi rathirilo theralu therachi, Nadhi nidduralo magatha marachi..' while it takes through the moments where Nani and Sai Pallavi fall for one another in the film. The lyrics emphasises the role of nature in their romance, describing the woman in focus here and talks of the little joys that the lovestruck couple experiences. Sai Pallavi looks stunning and equally apt as a Bengali woman falling for the advances of the lead character.
The hummable melody has a terrific musical flow and is soothing to the senses, thanks to Mickey J Meyer's music and Anurag Kulkarni's brilliance as a singer. The song yet again proves why Sirivennela has stayed relevant as a lyricist for so many years, retaining his innocence, simplicity without compromising on the lyrical flow.
The other two songs from the film - Rise of Shyam and Edo Edo- sung by Anurag Kulkarni, Chaitra Ambadipudi were instantly lapped up by music lovers. Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry has also penned another song from the film that'll be launched soon. "When I asked Sirivennela garu why he named the song after him, he was suggesting that it may be his last song in his career. He had written six lines for the song's pallavi and gave it to us. The song was recorded a day after he left for the heavenly abode. The film is our dedication to his genius," the director added in a video message before.
Nani plays two roles in the film - Shyam Singha Roy and Vasu. The titular character is a social reformer, a writer who stands up for women in the hour of crisis. Madonna Sebastian, Jisshu Sengupta, Rahul Ravindran, Murali Sharma and Abhinav Gomatam too essay crucial roles in Shyam Singha Roy. Sanu John Varghese has cranked the camera for the reincarnation-themed story. Shyam Singha Roy is edited by Navin Nooli while Avinash Kolla is the production designer. Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film across multiple languages.
