After closing week 1 with Rs. 88.9 crore, Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par is finally declared a hit at the start of week 2. The movie has crossed the budget of Rs. 90 crore and every earning from here is profit. Unfortunately, the movie did not touch Rs. 100 crore club and is expected to enter the same on second Saturday.
Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par has recovered its budget of Rs. 90 crore on day 8 i.e. second Friday. The film earned Rs. 94.65 crore as per Sacnilk. The movie earned slightly higher on second Friday as compared to first Thursday. While on day 7, the film closed with Rs. 6.5 crore, it minted Rs. 6.75 crore on day 8.

Seeing how Sitaare Zameen Par is yet to enter Rs. 100 crore club, the movie might really have to struggle to get the superhit status. This is a stark reminder of the fate of Salman Khan's Sikandar, which entered Rs. 100 crore club but struggled since. With Maa also competing with Sitaare Zameen Par the way Sunny Deol’s Jaat came in competition with Salman Khan’s Sikandar, this weekend could prove to be most crucial for both the movies.
Kajol's Maa, which is a movie from the Shaitaan Universe, is out in theatres. The film is likely to give Sitaare Zameen Par competition over the weekend. This could make things tougher for Aamir Khan's movie, but it is too early to tell if that would actually be the case. Nonetheless, Sitaare Zameen Par is slated to enter Rs. 100 crore club but whether it can come close to Rs. 200 crore club remains to be seen.
